How to use MealDaddy

Start simple. Add detail when you want more personal guidance.

MealDaddy.AI works best when it knows your goals, what you are eating, where you are eating, and which tracking tools you want enabled. Use the quickstart once, then log meals with a photo plus a short description for the deepest interpretation.

01

Set up your tracking

Reply with the basics once so MealDaddy knows what to track and what to ignore.

  • Choose US or Metric units
  • Enable or disable BMI tracking
  • Add weight if you want weight trends
  • Set targets for calories, protein, net carbs, fiber, water, steps, sleep, stress, or any custom goal
02

Log meals with a photo plus description

For the deepest interpretation, send both a meal photo and a short text description. Either one can work, but both together give MealDaddy better context.

  • Example: photo plus "3 eggs, mushrooms, herbs, olive oil"
  • Example: photo plus "chicken salad with avocado"
  • Tracks calories, protein, total carbs, fiber, net carbs, fat, and hydration
  • Applies an Inflammation Score per meal
03

Watch daily totals update

During the day, MealDaddy keeps a running picture of how the day is going.

  • Calories and protein
  • Net carbs with remaining allowance
  • Fiber running total
  • Hydration progress

Say "Finish my day" when you are done logging.

  • Optional calories burned check
  • Full daily summary
  • Net carb compliance check
  • Daily Inflammation Score from 1 to 10
  • Key insights and next-day plan

Core systems

The engines behind MealDaddy.

Nutrition Tracking Engine

Tracks calories, protein, total carbs, fiber, net carbs, fat, and hydration. Net carbs are calculated as total carbs minus fiber, and remaining daily net carbs are always displayed.

Defaults Engine

Applies neutral assumptions when details are missing, allows user override, avoids hard-coded habits, and flags uncertainty when needed.

Adaptive Hydration

Uses a user-defined daily water goal, tracks fluids, supports pacing reminders, and can adjust hydration guidance after salty meals.

Inflammation Score System

Scores meals from 1 strongly anti-inflammatory to 10 highly inflammatory using processing level, refined carbs, added sugars, seed oils, alcohol, and whole-food ratio.

Reporting System

Creates daily reports, weekly reports, and monthly reports on request, including macros, net carb compliance, hydration, inflammation trends, insights, and action fixes.

Smart Coaching Engine

Triggers suggestions when patterns appear: elevated inflammation scores, high stress trends, low energy, hydration gaps, or nutritional imbalance.

Restaurant Mode

When a restaurant is mentioned, MealDaddy recommends optimal menu choices, identifies high-risk items, suggests substitutions, estimates macros, and applies inflammation guidance.

Feedback and Export

After reports, users can rate the output from 1 to 5, add comments, and request exports such as "Export my week" or "Create my log file."

Daily, weekly, and monthly views.

  • Full macro breakdown
  • Net carb compliance
